MURREL FISH FRY

Who doesn't appreciate nicely cooked fish? Fish fries are the perfect snack for any occasion, whether it's the English classic, fish and chips, or the classic Indian batter-fried fish enjoyed across our country.

Ingredients

For Marination

500 grams Murrel

1 ½ tsp thick ginger garlic paste

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp red chilli powder

1 tsp red chilli flakes

1 tsp salt

3 sprigs Curry leaves finely chopped

½ tsp plain vinegar

3 tbsp Oil For Fish Fry

¼ cup Coconut Oil or peanut oil

Few sprigs curry leaves

Few strips ginger

Preparation

  1. Using a sharp knife, make small slits in the fish. Put all of the marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Combine the masalas and pour the marinade over the fish. Check that the marinade is properly coated on the fish. Fill the slits as much as possible with masala. Refrigerate the fish for 1 hour.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan. When the pan is heated, carefully place the fish in it. Then add a couple curry leaf sprigs and ginger julienne. Cook the fish for 2-3 minutes per side on medium-low heat until crispy and golden. Serve immediately.
